Greetings UPREP Parents,

On behalf of the UPREP Administration, Teachers and Students, it is with great pleasure that we invite you to be a part of our Parent Teacher Organization. We believe that we have something special in all of our parents, with your passion for your Sons and your different walks of life; it will certainly provide a variety of perspectives that will help us to be the best PTO that we can be.

As PTO President, I am most interested in TEAM. Every member of our PTO team will have a voice. Every member of our PTO team will have an expectation. No expectation will be overwhelming because we are volunteers but we will hope for strong commitment to completing whatever process we start (i.e. fundraisers, special events, meetings, etc.). The More The Hands, The Lighter The Load!

With this said, we have 3 more PTO Offices we must fill. What we are asking of each of you is, if you are interested in one of these Offices, please respond back to Myself, Mr. Larkin, Mr. Collins & Mr. Peavy via email or inbox us on our FB Page. Please see the position descriptions which are attached. There are 3 Questions that we are asking you to answer:

1. What position are you interested in?
2. Why are you interested in the position(s) that you are selecting?
3. What qualities qualify you for the role you are selecting?

Please email your submissions to PTO.President@uprep.org by Friday, April 10th by end of day.

We look forward to your responses and welcoming UPREP’s 1st VP of PTO, Secretary of PTO & Treasurer of PTO.

Sincerely Yours,

Mr. Charley

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PTO PRESIDENT
Greetings,
To the parents, administrators & teachers of University Preparatory Charter School for Young Men. First, I am humbled and honored to be the school’s 1st PTO president and gladly accept this role. It will be a great privilege to work with such a group of parents, teachers and administrators who care about creating a strong support base, to aide in our young men’s quest for academic progress and success.
It is very unfortunate that, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we will not be able to come together face-to-face until school resides. However, since we have just a few months of the school year left, I do not want us to miss the opportunity to, at least start thinking towards a process that puts the structure in place so that planning can begin either, remotely immediately or when classes resume.
I believe it to be important that since time is short, and until we can secure our other roles of the PTO properly, that we develop a team of parents that can start discussing how to create a stepping stone to making PTO 2019-20 meaningful for our young men, and prepare our families of next year for a strong start to our PTO.
If you are interested in helping to begin this process or have questions/suggestions, please me inbox me through this UPREP FB page, call me at (860)-920-8043 or email me at PTO.President@uprep.org.
Sincerely, Your President of PTO,
Mr. Jonathan Charley
